12:38pm: Amazing
Perhaps I just think differently or what. Do people really believe they have rights when it comes to the poker sites. I don't mean what is right or what is wrong, what should be done and what shouldn't be done. Do people not realize that sites can do as they please. Did they realize this when they deposited. I refer to the latest idiotic thread at 2+2 http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=11531162&page=0&fpart=all&vc=1

It is so stupid for OP to ask the question. No matter how he tries to skirt it, it is about the money and not the fact they took money out of his account. The responses are just as stupid. The answer is that if the sites decide to, then they can take your money and you have little recourse. There are obvious reasons why they do not do this. Posters continually bitch about the sites. Might as well talk to your shoe. Until there is regulation of some sort the sites themselves choose what is right and wrong, end of story. If they choose in such a manner that all players leave then while their decision may be bad it is still their decision to make that caused the players to leave. Obviously they will make choices that cause players to stay if they wish to grow and stay in business. They also realize that they cannot please everyone and will decide what is best for all regardless of what the players say. Someone has to make a decision, they make it. I thought many 2+2ers were college kids. Have the requirements to get in college been lowered to the point that one is not required to be able to perceive the most obvious.

9:27pm: What have I been doing?
Well, I have been playing a little. Not much. Just a little on the $10, $25 and occasionally the $50 and $100. Not winning not losing. Just break even (maybe a little down). Last couple of days I decided to stop messing around as much and play for real and started winning. But oh, how boring at the bottom levels. It seems one must have extreme patience nowadays to make anything at PLO8 and it comes very slowly. Not to many crazy players about. I have been reading 2+2 regularly but only posting once every blue moon. I enjoy the banter between Mend, Dave and Pred and see Phil and TB every now and then (posting that is). Many of the posters on 2+2 play much differently than they post. I see them on the lower tables and while they talk a good game on 2+2 they don't follow their own advise, good or bad.I never have been any good at dissecting a hand, so I don't comment much. I play by sense of smell. If it stinks I throw it in. I very rarely use PAHUD any more. Can't ever get it to work right and have forgotten what all my numbers around the names mean and am to lazy to look them up. They didn't help much with all the tighties out there now anyhow. I sure do miss party and the easy free money.

So what have I been doing. Well I'm still in the mortgage business but am an originator now and also just recently started/bought my own commercial mortgage net branch so I have been putting many hours into it. Nothing to show yet but I knew it would take time to break into it when I started. Of course I am broke from doing this but it will pay off in the end (Lord I hope).

Hope yawl had fun at the WSOP. Who knows, maybe one day I will go when I get my head right and game right and whoop all yawl. It would be fun to party with all you cuties. I couldn't hang with all the drinking you do, 2 or 3 and I get blown away but it would be fun.

Back to poker. I didn't mention but I have been playing short handed some. I seem to do extremely well SH but does it ever hurt my full ring game. It usually takes me a little time to calm down after SH. When ever I get my BR big enough I believe I will try and play SH exclusively. I believe there is more to be made there than FR with PLO8 in its present state. But what do I know, perhaps I'm just lucky SH. I play like a real maniac short. Reminds me of Phil's play FR. It drives people crazy. I can't stand it when people start sitting at the table and I have to change my game so I find myself moving from table to table every few minutes.

My golf game is back in the garbage although I finally had 2 good rounds last week, a 73 and a 74. Of course my opponent shot 69 and 71 but I can't complain. I had been having problems breaking 80 lately so those rounds near par gave me some inspiration. I just seem to keep losing interest in it lately just like poker. I guess I am to worried about my new business.

So how has everyone been. I see that many have slowed down on their journals as well. Of course i know DB is still playing 30k+ hands a month but how about the rest of you.

Talk to you soon. And just for TB I will make sure I have had a few for my next post:)
1:47am: Hello all

1:45pm: Netteller and other options
Speculation and rumors are flying on 2+2 and other forums. Interestingly enough many regular posters are silent. The same is true for many blogs. I have not been overly worried about Netteller but today I thought better about it and decided I had better at least prepare to remove my money from the sites so I started an epassporte account that will be linked to my bank account. This method may be slower to set up, I don't know. I do not look forward to withdrawing through epassporte as it will be a lengthy process. I do need to get some cash in hand anyway I just hate this is happening now. I have been running so good lately and have finally built my BR back to where I can play the 100s with no problem and not far away from getting back into the 200s. I would not normally be worried about the money I have on line if I were to lose it but right now I do need it and I have worked so hard building it back that I don't want to leave it on a site and not be able to get at it. Am I being premature by starting to draw it out or have all of you allready done it? Thoughts.

10:16am: Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all my LJ friends. I figured I had better write this early in the morning now instead of like the last couple of times when I was trashed during the holidays. Thanks for all the help and fun on LJ. You have all helped me so much. You have helped realize that trying to sustain 15-20BB/100 at the 100 tables and up is just not possible. I ran so well for so long I expected it and then started pushing to try and maintain it and ended up destroying my bank roll. But, over the last few months of reading all your journals and the comments you left on my journal I have been able to slowly rebuild and hope to be up to the 200 and 400 tables again and then hopefully on up higher.

Merry Christmas to Wintermute. Always an enjoyable read. Your road trips and exploits both on and off the table are hilarious and your skill at O8 is unsurpassed (at least until I am able to move up:)). Merry Christmas to Kuso, I really appreciate all the knowledge you share with all of us. Merry Christmas to Phil, it has been real fun reading you on LJ and 2+2 and BTP. I love all the controversy you get into and miss your bantering at the tables. A special Merry Christmas to Dave Breal who through his donations the past couple of weeks has eased the strain on my purse while Christmas shopping. Merry Christmas to Mend, TBGoldman and Gergery. I have learned so much from you three. Mend and TBG being so solid and all of Gergery's comments on everyones Journals that provided me with so much information. Merry Christmas to Maxsquat who has worked so hard at moving up and has now joined us on LJ. Merry Christmas to a new friend predator06, I look forward to reading more of your "domination" episodes. I wish I could have played with all of you at stars the other day when you were all at the same table. Soon, very soon. Merry Christmas to adbynot, cooker7, snakeman and orrlives. I don't hear much from yawll anymore so I hope you are doing well.

I have to run now and do some last minute shopping. I still might hop on the tables real quick and try and find Dave B. I have my eye on this coach bag and I think a 30 minute session with my new "hubby" should cover it:)

I apologize in advance for any more entries I make from now untill Tuesday. I most likely will be in a very Merry mood.

PS: Even tho he removed me from his friends list a long time ago I still wish Ribmeister a very Merry Christmas.

2:34am: Have the old Party players Returned?
Played FT tonight and saw something I have not seen in a long time. On the PlO8 100 tables there was at least one and sometimes 2 players at a table with VPIPs in the 60+ range with PFR in the 10-30 range. This did not include the regular donators like beepoop who was also at the tables. There were the few tight regulars and an assorment of fruit loops all around. Wish I hadn't been so tired. 5 hours of driving today to talk to 50 of the dumbest mortgage brokers you could ever find. Wore out but met up with one of my old boyfriends when I got back in town, a little dinner at outback then a little romance at my place then after he left I turn on the computer and see the players have all gone crazy. So bad start to the day but a great finish.

12:27am: O8 Tool Kit
OK Phill I'm going to try this again. I filtered this for my last 6000 or so hands at FT PLO8 100 the last time I apparently had some other levels mixed in with it. The last time you wrote

"The blue line being significantly above the red seems very odd. As you know this new version is in testing, so it could be an error in the program. The other possibility is that you're running very hot, which seems unlikely.

Can you do me a favor? For the same database that you're using here, go into PokerTracker, click filters on the general info tab, select "went to showdown" on the bottom right, and report the total winnings you see listed."

So I have done this and the number comes out as $2,239.95 which is higher than my actual winnings of $1,655.40. Here are the graphs.

OK. Does this mean I'm getting lucky or playing good. Where am I lsong money by not betting/folding/raising? After you explain it this time I may not have to bother you againg with it. By the way its working fast now with no apparent problems.

11:50pm: 2+2
Time for me to bitch about 2+2 again. The more I read 2+2 the more tired I grow of it. I used to be able to learn a little there but it seems that all that are there now are kids. I think every young college boy that read a 2+2 book registers and then thinks they are experts because they read a book. More and more the age shows. They throw the word fish around like they are on the world poker tour. I know I am just fair at PLO8 and I can't analyze other peoples hands after the fact but it is so tiring reading these tight weak little boys dispense their opinions like they are poker gods. I wear out most 2+2 ers I run across at the table. So why do I read it. I don't know. I have learned one thing from reading all their posts. They get themselves in jams and having to make tough decisions simply because they are so weak preflop. If you refuse to raise preflop or only raise at around 2 then you have to have super discipline to fold after the flop which they don't have. I go back and forth trying different strategies- not raising much preflop to raising almost every hand I play, and just like all things there is a happy medium. If one continually limps preflop and 7 players see the flop then you have to flop a monster or your stack will go up and down and never make any headway. This is where i see most 2+2 ers , making no headway. The more I see them for what they are the easier they are to beat. I am not a college grad but some of the stuff I see posted in the PLO8 forum, the internet forum and the software forum simply amazes me. These supposedly brainy college kids cannot figure the simplist things out and have no abilty to reason something out in a logical manner. Of course there are always exceptions and it is easy to tell who the ones are who know what they are doing and talking about. The rest are wannabees who think that by being a member of 2+2 they are automaticly part of an elite group that somehow makes them better players. I do not know about holdem players because I no longer play it much or read any forum entries on it but as far as PLO8 I do not think there are any posters on 2+2 who know what they arer talking about except for the few of you that are also on LJ. I do think BTP has a better forum membership but there are just not enough posts. Then again I think posting hands is useless most of the time. A PLO8 hand is actually pretty easy to figure out ( at least it is to me because of the strange way I look at things). The reason I post very few hands is that when you look at the hand afterwards it usually looks like a brag post or a idiot post. There are not to many inbetweens. The ones that are touch and go are obvious and I believe are so dependant on being in the hand in the moment that they cannot be analyzed by other players who were not in the hand or at the table. I'm probably wrong but that is my opinion on it. Any how I'm starting to ramble again.

11:20pm: A badly played hand
I played this hand terribly but the reason I was posting this was because of the comments afterwards from someone who wasn't in the hand. I probably shouldn't have done it but I get tired of the mouths. Especially when they are big time losers. Guess I should have kept my mouth shut. He left. First my badly played hand then the comments.

3:39pm: Who is Kristy Gazes
I am sure you all know this but I do not. On Full Tilt for at least the last several months there has been a $200 PLO8 table called Kristy Gazes. This table, unlike the rest, shows 0/8 players when empty and there is always a seat reserved for Kristy Gazes. Does anyone know who Kristy Gazes is? Why is there a seat always reserved? Has Kristy Gazes ever showed up? Has the table and seat been saved for someone who has passed away?

4:01am: This keeps happening
Did I play these wrong? I don't think so but this continues to happen to me. Figured I would post them and let the experts chime in if they wish. I'm not real upset about them but it just keeps happening over and over. These 2 are nothing really, compared to some others. Still a winning day, these 2 just made it not as good, came within about 35 mins of each other. In the second one the villian had been lagging it up pretty good. Figured I finally caught him but I got my hand smacked.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?604128

http://www.pokerhand.org/?604134

Full Tilt is lowering my win rate with this kind of stuff. Most of the players seem tight unless I'm in the pot. Still all in all up I'm up at FT but have had some days where I allmost wipe out everything when I go a little tilty from hands like the 2 above or worse. Didn't tilt this time. Got it back and the $50 table more than doubled up through the day.

Played just a little short handed today again. I seem to do well at it but not really enough hands to know. Aggression really seems to be a major factor SH and I seem to have an abundance of that since I went to FT. Once my BR gets to where I am more comfortable I think I will pursue SH more. Finding a few tight players makes it very easy or so it seems.

6:31pm: PLO8 at Full Tilt
I have been datamining Full Tilt for the last week. Over this weekend I have collected a little over 17,000 hands of PLO8 at various levels. I have read on 2+2, here and Internet Texas Holdem forums that Full Tilt is a rock garden. My observations: I know i do not have much data but I have been able to collect several thousand hands on some players and at least 500 on many many more which is still not much but the numbers i am seeing are (or appear to be) dramatically different than what party used to be. The tables do seem to be tighter with many players having VPIPs of 22 and under. What is so different is that even tho the players seem to be tighter on their hand selection they play worse than Party Players. I have never seen so many people with low VPIPs that are such major loosing players. I have a few winners with several thousand hands but they seem to be very few and far between. Again not many hands yet available but on Party at the low limits there were never many hands available on players due to them moving up or dropping out. Anyhow my thoughts- While FT might have tighter players they seem to have no clue after the flop. I think this could be a very profitable site-especially for a very good lag such as Phil. The few lags I observed seem to drive the players at the table crazy. They had no idea how to adjust. Any thoughts or other observations- agree - disagree? I also posted this at BTP so if you want to see anyone elses thoughts you can check there.

12:07am: Hello again, why do people play poker
Well I haven't posted in a very long time, I had a very bad month last month and been playing the 25 and 50 tables but mostly I have been watching Hak, scooped, Phil and a few others play. I wanted to coment on a video I saw last night but I see that that Hak has already brought it up. But anyhow, when I saw this video it really blew my mind and made to start to wonder about the people I play against. Click on Wintermutes journal for the link to the video. This guy was a nut case, I know I get upset at times but I usually get upset with myself and not the game. This guy got pissed when he lost or won and played almost every hand and called evry one a calling station. But when I look back and think about some of my oppenents I can see them reaCTING THIS WHEN BEFORE i NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT. nOW THAT io HAVE BEEN PLAYING AT THE MICROS i have been running up against Armour of god again and I forgot how bad he was. When I saw the video last night I thought of him and his tilt sessions. I t made me wonder why people play poker. I play because I really enjoy it and to make money but I never really realized how much some people are addicted. I know that I have been playing very bad the last couple of months it seems , but I never get pissed at anyone bt myself and my play. I expect the suck oput and I do get pissed when they keep coming and I really start to play bad and push, but I know when I do it what is going to happen and I don't get mad at the other players. This guy last night was a nut case. Why does he play and why doo the losers keep playing. I don't know. Many may consider me a loser by my platy lately and the way that PT can skew numbers if you don't record evry hand of an oppenant. Excuse the spelling, thinking to fast to fix. I still am winning but no where neer where I used to. I like to mess with certain people to much lately. Example is bad beat Phil. I like to call him down knowing the best I can do is split just to piss him off. It pays off in the long run against him but screws with my game. My discipline is totally gone and I have had to start my game all over again. I have been trying to follow Hak as much as possible because whether you believe it or not he is probably the best player on line. When I first started playing Pot limit 08 I reaD ABOUT wINTER AND rIBBO. At first I thought Ribbo was very good. When I finally saqt at a table with him I was very nervous. I soon discover3d there was no rason to be but with Hak I know I am way over my head. For all the talk on 2+2 and how to play handsw and what is right and wrong, just forget all that and watch Hak play and listen to what he says. I also think that Scooped is far better than most folks know and he really knows what he is doing. I cant mention who he is because he has never really told it up front but those of you who know him know who he is. Another good player to follow is Mend if you know his screen name. He is a rock thatr somehow gets action on his big hands including from me. I know when he reraises he has it but I still get stupid and call him. Luckily no one I have mentioned played the 25 so it is very easy to win down ther but the most you can win in a day buys dinner, drinks and a cart fee. But even as bad as they are I still am playing so bad my win rate on the 25s is only around 12BB/100. At the 25s I used to be around 20+ for well over 50,000 hands. I have to relearn that you cant bluff or push of idiots. If you can learn to play aggrssive at the low limits and fold against calling stations it rerallly does help you up to the 200 tables. It did before it will again but I have to teach myself all over. I played so much over the last 6 months and became so confident I also became very loose and started pushing bad hqands and draws. I used to have very few loosing sessions per month but now I think I have become too accepting of losing and just brush it off and think I will win it back and not woory and then I push another bad hand. The more I have played the worse I haVE BECOOME so that is why I am starting over at the 25s. I am starting to remember how it used to feel to win alot and fold when you have nothing. Raising and folding in the same hand is how I used to win but I turned into a raiser that wouldn't fold when I was beat and knew it. Well I guess I got way off of my orinal post and actually never talked about the header but of well. I will be back at the 200s again soon as soon as my head is right. I will not go outside of by BK again at the 400s. I think that is one of the things that messed me up. I knew I shouldn't have been there and when I lost there I started pushing the 200s to try and catch up. That was dumb. My game was and is suited for the 200s and I owned them until I tried the 400s under bankrolled. I will not do that again. I guess I tried to hard because I wanted to get to the higher limits beacuse I saw so many idiots up there but if you are not comfortable and bank rolled properly then your game will change. I even let Phil mess with my game at the 50 and 100s untill I convinced myself that evn though I like him now he is still a nut case and if I just play my game he is toast. Well I rambling on and on and yes if you couldn't tell I do have a very good buzz going. I will try and post more on my journal nut no promises. I think I started posting more for comments than for my own record. Whe the pecker Ribbo made a comment and then cut me off his friends list I got pissed but then I reaLIZED i WAS POSTING ON MY JOURNAL NOT FOR MYSELF BUT TO HEAR RESPONSES. I will post but not very often and I will probably be buzzed like tonight when I do. Im tired of typing and feal like playing so bye. By the way I didn't mention Dave but I do like reading all your posts , yours and Haks and 08's( who I did see on video and and actually now that I know who he is, i realized I had seen him play before in person) any how good night all.

6:50pm: How to play
This shit pissed me off today. All day long they fucking wouldn't fold their shit hands, chased and beat me. This happened at least 10 times today. Here's an example. How could I play it different.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?315264

Fuckwads would chase flushes, inside straights and all manner of bullshit. I hate this game today. Guess I was due. Haven't had a losing day in 2 or 3 weeks but the idiots think they out played me. Guess they did. I suck.

PS Sorry for the language, its been a bad day.

3:04am: Golf, Poker, Wintermute
My golf game went on the fritz today. I shot one of the worst scores that I can remember. The last time I played this bad, well I really can't remember. I shot a whopping 89. This comes on the heels of shooting a 73 this past week. Today, count them, 7 I say again 7 shanks. What an ugly word. It started with the wedge then worked its way up. I hit a few monster drives today (downwind of course) that left me with little flip wedges to the pin. Shanked everyone of them. Of course if I dropped another ball and tried again bubba stuck it close. Got to the point I couldn't hardly take it back on a chip. Ton of bogies and doubles. Amazingly my one birdie was a flop lob wedge on a par 3 that hit my mark exactly and fell in. Now for the strange part. We had 4 teams and I was supposedly the "A" player for our team. We won the front and the over all and I collected. The few pars and 1 birdie actually helped. My "D" player shot worse than me but had an eagle and 2 birdies. I should have been easy pickins today but my team held me up and on the side bets my partner played great and I cut him 3 holes on his 75. What a strange game. Back to the range this week with little or no play to straighten this out.

Just to note, made $305 at the tables. Still building but the confidence is back. I have been averaging around $350/day over the last week so it will take a while.

I see that Wintermute broke the 200K mark for the year and has his dance in high gear. Congrats. He definitely has a unique talent and understanding of the game. Many talk a good game but he delivers. The numbers that I have on him in my DB are amazing. Whenever I see him at the 2000 tables I just watch on the sidelines. Its like he can see hole cards. I know he can't because of some of the plays he makes but its still amazing to watch. He has, as Tony Montana would say, balls of steel. Who knows, maybe in a couple of years I can try the big girl/boy tables out. Its not possible for me to "grow a set" as Phil would say so I will have to find a way to improvise, adapt and overcome. Again Congrats To Wintermute.

10:50pm: Update
Good day. Slowly building it back. Good day at the 200 tables, 100 not as good. The 100 tables have been good to me lately but not today but fortunately the 200 tables more than made up for it. Had one hand today I really didn't like. On the turn I had straight with second low the river finished me. I don't like these hands but couldn't get away. How should I have played?

2:45am: Slowly rebuilding
The last 2 days have been successful. I dropped back to the 100 tables (but still having one 200 table open every now and then) and really paid attention to what I was doing and what the other players were doing. I know I said I was just going to play the cards but sometimes the players are so obvious you have to check them out. I can really see now that I had been playing low only hands with no real shot at the high which as you know can be very expensive in this game. It felt good to start playing good again. I thought I would be so obvious to the table but most don't seem to pay attention. I have folded a lot of hands post flop that would have scooped or taken half the pot against 3 or more players if I had called them down but they would have been -EV plays that just happened to work out. Because of this style of play when I re-raise most of the time everyone folds but every now and then I get a few callers and it doesn't take but once or twice and hour to make your day. I guess you would call this style very low variance (?) but it works. Below are two hands I played outside of this style. Would anyone care to comment on the hands and how I played them? In both instances I felt I had good reads on the players otherwise I would not have made these plays. Both were for half pots which I know is bad (the only two times I did this but they worked out) but any how here they are.

Hand #1 http://www.pokerhand.org/?279039

This hand makes me look like a calling station but the pace of the hand and the players involved is the reason I played it the way I did. When Eddydragon checked the turn I figured him for the flush draw with maybe a weak low. Elasticgirl just likes to throw money away and push lows all the time. I only had top and bottom pair but eddy didn't give any sign of a set or straight and when we both checked the turn I figured Elasticgirl was pushing a low. Was this a bad play with top and bottom pair with second low.

Hand#2 http://www.pokerhand.org/?279048

I'm about to fall asleep so I'm to tired to explain this one but I think the hand shows why I did what I did. Was I right or just lucky in both instances to play them the way I did?

3:42pm: Climbing out of a hole
I sit here both depressed and determined. I have dug myself into a deep hole (at least for me, not much to most of you). Somehow I have dropped $3,000 this month. It was through very bad play and bad luck but I am sure most was bad play. My good hands seemed to get sucked and the rest of the time I think I was playing for half pots and trying to play the players to much. In PLO8 it seems that stats don't really mean that much except when you have a super monster you know which ones will follow you but if you play marginal hands against bad players its a dice roll and I seem to roll bad. It appears I have been calling preflop raises to much and chasing half pots re-buying and doing it again and again. Last night I did some re-evaluating and had to convince myself I couldn't win it all back in one session or one hand. I know that's pretty obvious but when you get deep in a hole it seems, at least to me, you try to hard to jump out. It is strange when you are in a hand and in your gut you know your going to lose but you find yourself calling or worse trying to scare out the nuts with a re-raise. I have seen all kinds of maniacs lately who win with nothing and pushing everything so I start thinking my hand is better than it is. This morning I decided to stop feeling depressed, use my head and "slowly" dig my way out. I kept PAHUD stats running but played the cards and not the players. I folded post flop more than normal it seems and only played monsters. Sure enough the better players stayed away but the maniacs were easy pickings. I didn't try and play hands against them to catch them I just let them follow me when I had it the whole way. So now I'm only down $2500 with much of the day left and the rest of the month as well. It appears I go in spurts of playing good then I start to play more and more hands. My discipline gets weak and I have to hit myself in the head to remind me of what wins. Does anyone else go through this? This game of PLO8 can be very boring at times and I think that's what gets me in trouble. Playing 3 tables at a time helps and believe it or not having the TV on helps at times to. I know some of the more knowledgeable and aggressive players would disagree because they are in so many hands but try as I may I seem to be only able to win by peddling. It works but I fear I will be stuck at the 100 or 200 tables forever if I can't open my game up some. Every time I try to open it up I do good for a while then it swallows me. If I stay with my safe game I win. Looking back through my journal I seem to go through this realization at least once a month. Sooner or later I will learn to stay with what works as well as remember to stay disciplined to it. Is it possible to win at higher limits by peddling, with a VPIP between 18 and 25, with a pfr below or around 5? I don't know but being realistic that is my game.
